Join us for an in-person residential Relational Culture experience at the beautiful Watershed Center in Millerton, NY! This session is both for people who are new to Relational Uprising training, AND for those who have completed the Introduction to Relational Culture online training or another Relational Uprising training, for whom there will be an advanced track for this session. There is no pre-requisite to join the residential.
This training will bring Relational Culture practices to life within a live group in beautiful summertime surroundings in the Hudson Valley. It is designed for community builders, cultural workers, educators, and movement leaders to deepen their capacity and tools for shifting culture.
Description: This workshop will offer a powerful learning experience steeped in the practices of Relational Culture, a framework for building embodied collective relational intelligence. We begin with a thorough and nuanced understanding of the logic and embodied experience of the dominant culture of individualism, it’s relationship to interlocking systems of oppression, and the ways it threatens relationships, community, and collaboration. Then, we dive together into the resilience and power of our stories and the embodied wisdom of our nervous systems. We will weave a communal experience through Relational Uprising’s powerful storytelling and exploratory somatic practice that includes movement, play, and time in nature. You will learn Relational Somatics principles and practices to deepen your experience of relational embodiment in culture-building work.

The residential is welcoming to those new to our work as well as those with some experience who are interested in becoming skilled practitioners of Relational Culture. We will deepen in core relational competencies including:
📖 Narrative development: Deepening relational understanding of your own story. Relational Culture includes a powerful narrative framework that connects one’s personal narrative of relational support to a collective narrative of shared values, legacy, and vision.
🫂Somatic Development: Deepening your learning about the nervous system and its wisdom for relational engagement. This framework situates our bodies relationally in the environment, seeing the legacy of life and all its somatic resources. We will use experiments of dance and play to mobilize with the sensitivity, moving from the individual body to the ecology.
⭕️Social Development: Deepening your understanding of the fundamentals of relational social arrangement and applying them to group dynamics and process. We will lay the ground for Identifying equitable and inclusive social structures and arrangements that protect and promote vs. inhibit complexity and diversity.
